Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced engineer specializing in the design of HV substations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with national and international standards, and coordinate effectively with various stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in engineering (Power Major) and at least 7 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the same position.
• Experience in design review (secondary protection design).
• Experience in design review HV material related to secondary engineering scope.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Identify all relevant standards and customer requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant National/ International Standards and legislation, and contract specification.
• liaise and coordinate contract requirements with Project Manager, customer, external suppliers and other departments at earliest opportunity as per contract award,
• Initiate the preparation of all required drawings and perform design check of drawing contents to be submitted for customer / sub-contractor interface.
• Review of supplier drawings technical
• Design of all substation panels details (local, remote, protection &common).
• Design of all protection and telecommunication systems of the plant
• Interact between different suppliers with different drawings.
• Attend technical meetings with client/consultant.
• Attend and contribute to Design Reviews / Construction Support / Contract Close-out Meetings, ensuring that appropriate items s re actioned in a timely manner.
• Liaise with other Designers and Technicians on calculations and drawings requirements. (Including Suppliers).
• Prepare bill of quantities.
• Provide design assistance for documentation of substation asset maintenance and upgrades -Specification for purchase of all major equipment contained in substation projects (i.e., large power transformers, breakers, voltage regulators, switches, surge arresters, bus/wire sizes, etc.)

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Power Major.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in same position.
• Experience of design of HV substation field.
• Experience in design review ( secondary -protection design ).
• Experience in design review HV material related to secondary engineering scope.
• English language excellent high level.
