Job summary

A defense systems company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee quality management systems, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with military standards. Qualifications

  • 8–10 years’ experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Management, preferably in defense, military, aerospace, or heavy industrial land systems.
  • Strong experience with ISO 9001 QMS, internal and supplier audits, and product/production quality tools.
  • Hands-on experience managing non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions in a production or MRO environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 and defense standards.
  • Plan, execute, and document inspections, tests, and audits for incoming materials and final products.

Job description

Title: Quality Engineer – Defense (8–10 Years)

Nationality: Saudi Nationals mandatory

About the Role

An established player in the defense and military land systems sector is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to ensure that complex platforms, systems, and components meet stringent military and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on quality management systems, supplier performance, and continuous improvement across localized production and maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and defense standards.
  • Plan, execute, and document inspections, tests, and audits for incoming materials, in-process activities, and final products for land systems (vehicles, platforms, subsystems).
  • Conduct supplier qualification, performance reviews, and on-site audits; drive corrective and preventive actions with strategic suppliers.
  • Analyze non-conformities using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa) and coordinate robust action plans with cross‑functional teams.
  • Monitor and report quality KPIs (on‑time delivery, conformity, defect rates, rework, field returns) to project and program leadership.
  • Support industrialization phases (PRR, TRR, FAI, MRR/MRL or equivalent) for new or localized products and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and military standards, and participate in customer reviews, acceptance tests, and audits.
  • Promote a culture of quality, train stakeholders on procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Management, preferably in defense, military, aerospace, or heavy industrial land systems.
  • Strong experience with ISO 9001 QMS, internal and supplier audits, and product/production quality tools.
  • Hands‑on experience managing non‑conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions in a production or MRO environment.
  • Demonstrated exposure to defense customers or government entities (e.g., MOD, GAMI, military branches or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic engineering tools; familiarity with CAD/PLM/ERP environments is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English, with the ability to work in cross‑functional and multicultural teams.
Preferred Background
  • Experience with land platforms, armored vehicles, weapon systems, or defense electronic/mechanical subsystems.
  • Supplier Quality / Industrial Performance background with strong field audit exposure.
  • Training or certification in ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, CQE/CQA, or equivalent quality certifications.
