Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Configuration Manager with a robust background in defense systems to lead configuration management activities throughout the system lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining configuration integrity, managing change control, and ensuring compliance with defense standards across, software, and documentation. This role demands strong leadership in coordinating configuration control boards, audits, status accounting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a defense environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMP) aligned with defense industry standards.
  • Identify, control, and track configuration items (CIs) including hardware, software, and documentation.
  • Manage engineering change requests, proposals, and deviations through formal change control processes.
  • Conduct configuration audits to verify conformance to baselines and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate configuration status accounting and reporting for all lifecycle phases.
  • Lead Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and coordinate approval workflows.
  • Implement and manage CM tools to automate and streamline configuration processes.
  • Provide CM training and promote best practices across project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with defense standards such as MIL-STD-973, ISO 10007, and DoD 5000 series.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years in Configuration Management roles within the defense sector.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD configuration management standards and processes.
  • Experience managing complex hardware/software system baselines and change controls.
  • Proficient with CM tools such as JIRA, CM Pro, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Configuration Control Boards and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
