Job description
Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all hotel facets to current, potential, and past clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ensure account details are handled thoroughly, with all solicitation and closing activities documented. Coordinate with various departments to service accounts.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as appropriate based on potential business from their accounts.
  • Communicate effectively with all hotel departments to ensure high‑quality service for clients.
  • Maintain regular attendance and availability to work as needed.
  • Prepare correspondence, internal booking reports, and file maintenance.
  • Participate in daily business review meetings, pre‑convention meetings, training, and other sales‑related activities.
  • Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings to stay updated on market trends and build relationships.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and key customers for the hotel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in hospitality sales, preferably in catering sales.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Computer skills, including but not limited to.
  • Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market.
  • Ability to execute appropriate action plans.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, preparation of business plans, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, and long‑range planning.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure the accomplishment of goals.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
