University of Prince Murgin (UPM) is seeking a Full Time Researcher to conduct high‑quality research and innovation activities within the research centre and laboratory.
This role involves designing and executing experiments, analysing data, publishing research findings, and contributing to the overall objectives of the centre, DSRGS and the university. The researcher will support funding efforts, collaborations and initiatives, and collaborate with faculty, students and external partners to advance research.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and innovation activities including experiments, surveys, studies, generating hypotheses, analysing data and drawing conclusions from findings.
- Support collaboration and networking opportunities within the centre or laboratory.
- Seek external research funding by writing grant proposals, securing grants, and assisting in managing grant‑funded projects and meeting deliverables.
- Engage in publications and intellectual property development, preparing papers for peer‑reviewed journals or conferences and filing patent submissions.
- Lead and work within a team on various interdisciplinary projects.
- Mentor students and junior researchers in research methodologies and project execution; provide guidance and support to research assistants and team members.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including university policies related to research activities.
- Manage, liaise and coordinate research and innovation projects conducted within the research centre and its groups.
- Hold training seminars and workshops on research mentorship, quality and impact.
- Manage and analyse research data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools, maintaining accurate and organized records of research processes and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the field of specialization and pursue professional development opportunities to enhance research skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by line management.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in the required specialization area, ideally with 3+ years of research experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a higher‑education institution or a research institution.
- Demonstrated track record of research publications in reputable peer‑reviewed journals.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills and experience in designing and conducting experiments or studies.
- Proficiency in relevant research methodologies and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Grant writing and project management experience is preferred.
- Excellent command of both English and Arabic (spoken and written).
- Effective interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently, attend multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
