Pricing & Revenue Strategy Lead

(Flowers & Gifting | E-commerce | Marketplace)

Role Summary

Florose is seeking a Pricing & Revenue Strategy Lead to design, own, and optimize our end-to-end pricing strategy across flowers, gifts, and accessories. This role will ensure Florose is competitively positioned, operationally sustainable, and profitably scalable, especially during and post‑launch.

This is a high‑impact role working closely with CEO, Product, Operations, and Finance to balance brand positioning, customer acquisition, and unit economics.

Why This Role Is Critical Now

Florose operates in a high‑trust, high‑emotion category where pricing directly affects:

  • Customer perception vs competitors
  • Conversion and repeat purchase
  • Operational feasibility during peak demand
  • Long‑term profitability

As we prepare for launch and early scale, we need expert ownership of pricing decisions rather than reactive or intuition‑based adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pricing Strategy & Framework

  • Define the overall pricing philosophy (premium, competitive, hybrid)
  • Design pricing structures for:
  • Flowers (ready vs custom)
  • Gifts & accessories
  • Bundles and occasions
  • Set rules for same‑day vs next‑day pricing

2. Competitive & Market Analysis

  • Analyze competitor pricing
  • Identify price gaps, opportunities, and risks
  • Recommend where Florose should:
  • Match
  • Undercut
  • Premium‑price

3. Unit Economics & Margin Ownership

  • Own contribution margin per order Balance:
  • COGS
  • Assembly time
  • Delivery costs
  • Peak‑time operational strain
  • Ensure pricing supports on‑time delivery and quality

4. Launch & Early‑Stage Optimization

  • Support launch pricing strategy
  • Monitor early performance and recommend adjustments
  • Define guardrails for promotions and discounts
  • Avoid race‑to‑the‑bottom pricing while enabling acquisition

5. Promotions & Experimentation

  • Design promo strategies (launch, retention, peak events)
  • Decide when promotions make sense — and when they don’t
  • Partner with Product on pricing experiments (lightweight A/Bs)

6. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with

  • CEO on positioning and strategic decisions
  • Product on conversion and UX implications
  • Operations on feasibility and SLA impact
  • Finance on margins and forecasting
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
  • Clear pricing framework approved by leadership
  • Confident launch pricing aligned with brand and ops
  • Reduced ad‑hoc pricing decisions
  • Shared understanding of:
  • Why prices are set the way they are
  • When to adjust vs hold firm
  • Early data‑driven recommendations post‑launch
Ideal Background & Experience Required
  • 7–10 years experience in pricing, revenue strategy, or commercial analytics
  • Higher degree in accounting
  • Experience in:
  • E‑commerce
  • Marketplaces
  • On‑demand delivery
  • Retail or consumer brands
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Unit economics
  • Cost‑to‑serve
  • Demand elasticity
  • Ability to operate in early‑stage / fast‑moving environments
Nice to Have Experience in
  • Flowers, gifting, or luxury retail
  • MENA markets
  • Experience launching pricing for a new product or market
Profile We’re Looking For This person is
  • Analytical but pragmatic
  • Comfortable making decisions with imperfect data
  • Able to balance brand, growth, and operations
  • Trusted advisor to leadership, not just a data provider
Reporting & Collaboration
  • Reports to: CEO
  • Works closely with:
  • Product Manager
  • Operations Lead
