Responsibilities

The main purpose of the Procurement Officer's job is to support purchasing tasks in a way that meets ESEC's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply

  • Provide timely and accurate support to P&M Engineers and Senior Procurement Officers to optimize their time
  • Interface with suppliers on behalf of P&M Engineers (e.g. to receive quotations, to conduct preliminary negotiations, etc.) for non-technical purchases, i.e. which do not require engineering know-how
  • Handle the processing of POs, and the communication of authorized POs to suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers for the delivery of placed orders
  • Maintain procurement files and records
  • Visit supplier premises for obtaining information, samples, etc. as needed
  • Assist in reporting on procurement activities
  • Report to and support the Senior Procurement Officer on all matter of nonpermanent material purchasing
  • Interface with key suppliers
  • Work with the Operations on all matters relating to purchasing and logistics
  • Liaise with Finance to monitor payments to vendors
  • Interact on a daily basis with all direct reports for operational and other business related matters / issues
Qualifications
  • Bachelor in Business Administration or Diploma in a related field relevant technical certificates
  • Excellent knowledge of the construction industry; ideally, has held a procurement role within a construction company
  • 2 years' experience in procurement in a comparable sized operation to ESEC
  • Experience in the Middle East is a strong plus
  • Proficient in MS office Suites
  • Fluent in English and preferably Arabic language
  • Good ability in analyzing and solving issues effectively
  • A robust collaborator and effective team player
  • Delivery-oriented professional with proven records of delivering success Well-versed in written and oral communication
