Job summary
A leading construction and engineering firm in Riyadh is seeking a skilled HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental arrangements on major projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 10-15 years of experience in construction, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and relevant health and safety qualifications including NEBOSH. Responsibilities include managing HSE Inspectors, conducting site visits, developing training, and preparing HSE reports.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10-15 years' experience in dealing with major construction projects.
- Must be qualified with relevant Health and Safety Qualifications - minimum NEBOSH IGC.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant subject.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence.
- Proficiency in English.
Responsibilities
- Manage health, safety, and environmental arrangements for the project.
- Manage HSE Inspectors for monitoring safety arrangements.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training.
- Review contractor's health and safety plans.
- Plan daily site visits for safety measures.
- Conduct weekly joint HSE inspections.
- Organise HSE meetings with clients and contractors.
- Test emergency response plans and carry out drills.
- Follow up on incident investigation reports.
- Conduct regular site safety reviews.
- Liaise with enforcement authorities and prepare HSE reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage the health, safety and environmental arrangements for the project against the WSP HSEQ / client HSEQ Management System requirements, to ensure the protection of our people.
- Manage HSE Inspectors to ensure they monitor the implementation of health and safety arrangements at project site level, in accordance with legal and client requirements.
- Develop and deliver health, safety and environmental training to WSP employees including but not limited to induction and safe working practices.
- Review and approve contractor's health, safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements against legal and client requirements prior to the work being carried out.
- Plan daily morning site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place before works begin.
- Carry out weekly joint HSE inspections with HSE Inspectors and contractor personnel and ensure all corrective / preventive actions are closed out.
- Organise HSE meetings with clients, WSP project staff, and contractors.
- Initiate and test emergency response plans and ensure the drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
- Ensure HSE Inspectors follow up on contractor's incident investigation reports and ensure corrective actions are identified and closed out to prevent recurrence, providing necessary technical guidance for accident protection.
- Conduct regular site safety reviews.
- Liaise with enforcement authorities (PCFC, EHS Checks); prepare and submit monthly HSE reports in conjunction with contractor personnel and to the client.
