Job Title: HSE Manager
Job Purpose:
The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental management systems on-site to ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company policies. The role ensures safe working conditions, risk control, and proactive accident prevention on large-scale infrastructure and road construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all HSE activities at the project site.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and plans in line with statutory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and implement mitigation measures.
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for staff and workers.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare regular HSE performance reports.
- Drive a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement across the site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education/Certification: Level 6 International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH, NVQ, or OTHM) – Mandatory.
- Experience: 10+ years total experience in HSE, including a minimum 5 years in a full-time HSE Manager role on large-scale infrastructure and road construction projects.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of international HSE standards, codes, and local regulations; excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills; proficiency in incident investigation, audits, and risk management.
