Position Overview

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Digital Development & Delivery located in Jeddah, The Head of Digital Development & Delivery is a senior leadership role responsible for engineering excellence and reliable delivery of the company’s omni-channel digital ecosystem.

This role goes beyond project management. It is accountable for building a modern, product-led engineering organization that delivers scalable, secure, and high-availability platforms across E-commerce, Order Management, Last-Mile Delivery, Customer Care, and POS environments.

The mission is to translate business strategy into robust digital products that support growth, operational stability, and superior customer experience across the KSA market.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end SDLC and accountability for the company’s omni-channel digital platforms, including e-commerce storefronts, order management (OMS), last-mile integrations, and CRM systems.
  • Lead the strategic modernization of legacy WebSphere systems toward cloud-ready, modular, and scalable architectures.
  • Ensure a unified 360-degree customer view by harmonizing data and interactions across online, in-store, insurance, and delivery channels.
  • Govern the digital customer experience across all touchpoints, aligning UX, performance, and reliability across web, mobile, and other platforms.
  • Partner with Business and Product teams to deliver platform enhancements that drive measurable improvements in conversion, engagement, and customer retention.
  • Define an API-first and event-driven integration strategy to enable secure, real-time data exchange across SAP, POS/RMS, and external partners.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Product, and Customer Care teams to execute cohesive, high-impact digital initiatives.
  • Guarantee compliance with KSA regulations, ensuring all platforms meet NDMO and PDPL security and data privacy standards.
  • Establish architectural standards to manage technical debt while balancing rapid delivery with long-term system resilience.
  • Build and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering organization encompassing backend, frontend, mobile, WPA, QA, and DevOps domains.
  • Own DevOps and release governance, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production deployment controls.
  • Drive operational excellence for high-volume, transaction-intensive platforms to ensure maximum availability and rapid incident recovery.
  • Manage the performance of system integrators and technology partners, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to roadmap objectives.
Qualification & Experiences
  • 12–15 years of progressive experience in software engineering and digital platforms
  • 7+ years in senior leadership roles within high-transaction environments such as retail, pharmacy, E-Commerce, or fintech
  • Proven experience leading large, distributed engineering teams (30–50+ staff, onshore/offshore)
  • Strong background in omni-channel commerce, OMS, last-mile delivery, and POS integration
  • Demonstrated success driving Agile or scaled Agile (SAFe) operating models
  • Experience with enterprise and modern application platforms including WebSphere or equivalent middleware, modern backend stacks (Java / Node.js), frontend and mobile platforms, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, API management, observability, and production support practices
  • Professional Certifications: TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification, Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and ITIL for service and release governance.
