Job summary

A leading oil and gas firm located in Ḥa'il Province, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Facilities Planning Engineer to support infrastructure optimization and project evaluations. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in facilities engineering, strong skills in project economics, and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Fluency in English and Arabic is essential for effective communication. This position plays a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient planning aligned with organizational strategies.

Qualifications

Job Purpose

Plays a key role in supporting industrial and community facility planning projects, including site master planning, infrastructure optimization, and capital project evaluation. Ensures that oil & gas production and supporting facilities are planned efficiently, safely, and in alignment with strategic business objectives.

Holds a high level of confidentiality and access to sensitive operational and planning information. Unauthorized disclosure could result in severe or catastrophic adverse effects on organizational operations, assets, or individuals.

Key Accountabilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Conducts feasibility studies and capacity analysis for industrial facilities and supporting infrastructure.
  • Develops conceptual layouts, cost estimates, and project justifications for new facilities and upgrades.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams (process, maintenance, HSE, projects) to ensure alignment of planning decisions.
  • Evaluates long- term infrastructure needs for utilities, pipelines, and storage systems to ensure operational reliability.
  • Contributes to preparation of project proposals, FEED input, and risk‑based prioritization of projects.
  • Supports integration of sustainability measures and energy management in facility planning.
  • Reviews compliance with internal and external standards (Saudi Aramco, API, ASME, ISO, NFPA).
  • Assists in facility planning projects, including site assessments, space utilization analysis, and infrastructure development.
  • Works closely with senior team members to implement planning strategies.
  • Collaborates in evaluating facility space usage and optimizing layouts for improved efficiency.
  • Participates in space planning and allocation processes.
  • Supports infrastructure development initiatives, such as utilities, HVAC systems, and safety upgrades.
  • Assists in coordinating project activities with engineering and construction teams.
  • Ensures compliance with facility planning regulations and assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
  • Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high‑quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
  • Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area assigned.
  • Performs any other relevant task as directed by Manager Project & Facilities Planning.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations and/or Experience

3 to 5 years related experience, covering Facilities Engineering operations preferably in oil & gas sector organization.

Master planning, infrastructure engineering, project economics, and risk assessment.

Academic background includes a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

Skills

Language Skills: English and Arabic.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
