Job description

Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) is seeking a highly experienced and design-literate Executive Director – Transport Hubs to lead the planning, design management, and delivery of all major transport facilities across the Qiddiya development.

This role will have overarching responsibility for a portfolio of complex transport-related projects, including multimodal stations, interchanges, terminals, and supporting infrastructure that form critical components of the city’s mobility network and will becomes pivotal places within the public realm and customer experience for visitors to Qiddiya.

The Executive Director will operate at both strategic and delivery levels, setting design direction, overseeing engineering integration, and ensuring safe, timely, and coordinated project execution. This includes building team culture, leading project governance, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, and serving as the key interface between architecture, engineering, transport planning, and construction delivery. The role is expected to balance operational requirements with architectural and public space quality, acting as a connector across design and technical domains.

Drawing on a background in both architecture and infrastructure delivery, you will oversee the delivery of high-profile metro, rail, public transport station and associated public domain programs leading the full asset lifecycle. This includes early-stage planning and feasibility, through procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

The position plays a key leadership role in shaping the future of Qiddiya’s transport system, ensuring that hubs and interchanges are not only technically functional but also embedded in the broader civic and urban contexts supporting a seamless, intuitive, and high-quality customer experience.

Define and lead delivery of station and interchange infrastructure across Qiddiya

Coordinate integration of transport components (e.g., metro stations, rail platforms, bus terminals, public domain elements) into the urban masterplan with spatial and functional coherence.

Manage multi-disciplinary teams of architects, engineers, transport planners, and contractors through all project phases.

Consider the customer experience in all facets of planning, delivery and operations and embed the customer team in all interchange planning

Consider phased delivery over time and the possible need for interim measures to be in place as surrounding precinct assets are progressively opened.

Collaborate across all districts of Qiddiya and understand district needs, land use mix, customer access needs, peak and normal visitation flows and the mobility solutions that lead to success.

Balance architectural quality, structural performance, accessibility, and passenger flow in design and execution.

Establish divisional design standards, procurement strategies, and technical governance.

Oversee connectivity across modes—rail, metro, road, autonomous vehicles, cycling, and pedestrian networks.

Lead program-level oversight on cost, risk, schedule, quality, and safety

Coordinate with government, regulators, infrastructure partners for approvals and compliance

Advise executive leadership on strategic phasing, prioritization, and operational readiness.

Engage with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and delivery partners to secure approvals and maintain compliance.

Ensure technical performance, spatial quality, accessibility, and user experience are appropriately balanced in all transport-related assets.

Demonstrated ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams and interface between design ambition and technical delivery.

Proven experience leading complex projects blending both transport infrastructure with civic-scaled public domain, place making, activation and customer experience outcomes.

Familiarity with project governance, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory coordination.

Strong collaborator and proven ability to build quality internal team and external stakeholder relationships.

Ability to balance program-wide oversight with attention to project-level design, functionality, and constructability.

Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

18 years of experience leading complex transport-related projects, including significant public transport buildings or interchanges.

Degree in Architecture (preferred) or Engineering postgraduate qualification preferred.
