Job description

Position: Estimation Engineer - Joinery & Fit-Out

Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Summary:

We’re hiring a sharp, detail-obsessed Estimator to price bespoke millwork and joinery packages with speed and accuracy. You’ll own the full estimating cycle—from drawing take-offs to final commercial submission—covering factory manufacturing costs (materials, labor, machine time, finishes, hardware) and prelims/overheads (mobilization, site set-up, logistics, supervision, temporary works). You’ll partner closely with design/technical, procurement, and commercial teams to produce winning, risk-aware tenders and airtight technical submittals for premium, design-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating & Cost Build-Up: Detailed take-offs from IFC/Tender drawings/specs/BOQs; build manufacturing cost models (yields, cut lists, routing, labor norms, finishing cycles) and prelims (HSE, small tools, logistics, waste, contingencies); prepare priced BOQs, cost summaries, and basis-of-estimate (assumptions/clarifications).
  • Tendering & Commercial: Lead RFQs, analyze/normalize quotes, negotiate best value, and compile complete bid submissions (commercial + technical) aligned to client program and risk profile; propose VE options without compromising design intent.
  • Technical Coordination: Review for buildability; raise/track RFIs; coordinate with design to resolve discrepancies; prepare/coordinate Technical Submittals (TDS, samples, mock-ups, compliance matrices, method statements).
  • Controls & Handover: Maintain live cost databases (materials, hardware, finishes, labor norms, machine rates, benchmarks); support project handover with awarded budgets, CBS issuance, and production/site briefings.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience: 3–7+ years in millwork/joinery estimating within fit-out or woodworking manufacturing (factory + site exposure preferred).
  • Technical: Solid grasp of joinery manufacturing (cutting, edging, pressing/veneering, CNC/machining, assembly, finishing, packing), timber/veneer species, boards/laminates, hardware, and installation sequences.
  • Software Mastery:
    • Excel (advanced): lookups, pivots, what-ifs, dashboards.
    • CAD: confident reading/extracting take-offs from AutoCAD (3D a plus).
    • ERP/Estimating tools: SAP/ERP familiarity is a bonus.
  • Commercial: Market price awareness across KSA/GCC; negotiation strength; crisp commercial documentation.
  • Delivery Traits: Fast and precise under tight deadlines; rigorous attention to detail; clear written communication; proactive follow-up.
  • Education: Diploma/Bachelor in Wood Technology, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or related; relevant CAD/ERP/estimating certifications are advantageous.

If you’re a numbers-driven estimator with factory know-how and commercial finesse—and you thrive on precision under pressure—we’d love to meet you.
