Job description

Foreground is partnering with a leading food manufacturing company in Dammam to identify an experienced Engineering Manager.

This role is pivotal in overseeing engineering operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes in a high-standard food production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the engineering department, overseeing a team of engineers and technical staff responsible for plant operations, utilities, and project execution.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies to optimize production processes, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with local and international food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 22000, BRC).
• Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of production lines, utilities, and support systems.
• Collaborate with production, QA, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting manufacturing performance.
• Manage capital expenditure projects, including budgeting, vendor selection, and project timelines.
• Drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance process automation, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
• Develop and enforce preventive maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies.
• Ensure all engineering documentation, SOPs, and technical records are up-to-date and compliant with audit requirements.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years experience in engineering roles within food manufacturing or FMCG, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Deep understanding of food processing equipment, utilities (steam, refrigeration, compressed air), and plant automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of quality and safety standards (ISO, BRC, SFDA regulations).
• Proven project management skills and experience leading cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
