Role Summary
The Business Development Director will lead strategic growth initiatives across venture capital activities, new business creation, and scalable monetization models. This role is responsible for identifying investment opportunities, launching and growing new ventures, driving material revenue growth, and enhancing digital monetization and market visibility. The position works closely with executive leadership, investors, and cross-functional teams to turn strategy into measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Venture Capital & Investment Strategy
- Identify, evaluate, and structure venture capital and strategic investment opportunities
- Conduct commercial, market, and growth due diligence on potential investments
- Build and manage relationships with founders, co-investors, accelerators, and ecosystem partners
- Support portfolio companies with growth strategy, partnerships, and monetization initiatives
New Business Creation
- Lead ideation, validation, and launch of new business ventures and spin-offs
- Develop business models, go-to-market strategies, and financial projections
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (product, tech, marketing, legal, finance) to execute launches
- Establish KPIs and governance structures for early-stage ventures
Growth & Commercial Development
- Drive material revenue growth through partnerships, alliances, and new market entry
- Identify scalable growth levers across existing and new businesses
- Structure strategic deals, joint ventures, and long-term commercial agreements
- Track performance and optimize growth strategies based on data and results
Digital Monetization
- Design and implement digital monetization strategies (subscriptions, platforms, data, marketplaces, advertising, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to monetize digital assets, IP, and audiences
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to optimize customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value
Visibility & Market Studies
- Lead market, competitive, and visibility studies to support strategic decisions
- Analyze trends, customer behavior, and emerging technologies
- Translate insights into actionable growth and investment recommendations
- Support brand and market positioning strategies based on research findings
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in business development, venture capital, strategy, consulting, or corporate development
- Proven track record in launching and scaling new businesses or investments
- Strong understanding of digital business models and monetization strategies
- Experience working with senior executives, investors, and founders
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
