Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and manage the operations and activities of the assigned Nursing departments with 24-hour accountability. Oversee clinical nursing performance and set priorities based on evidence-based practice. Develop policy, procedures and guidelines to support quality and safe patient care.
• Ensure Nursing staff and all learners provide care within the nursing scope of practice, policies, procedures and established standards of patient care, advocating to meet patient needs and clinical programs.
• Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of educational activities to meet identified needs of managers, nursing and support personnel.
• Create a culture that empowers nurses to achieve their potential. Demonstrate negotiation, critical thinking and team-building. Promote the hospital and nursing mission and vision and uphold values. Foster collaboration within the nursing department and with other healthcare personnel.
• Ensure corrective actions as required.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing
• Master's Degree in Nursing / Management from an accredited institution
• Current licensure as a professional registered nurse
• Specific Certification as required in area of assignment

Work Experience

Minimum of 10 years of current clinical nursing experience following licensure/registration, with at least 5 years in a comparable managerial capacity.
