As the Design Director - Aquatics Centre at Qiddiya Investment Company, you will lead the creative vision and design strategy for a state-of-the-art Aquatics Centre that serves as a hub for aquatic sports, recreation, and community engagement. You will collaborate with a diverse team of designers and engineers to ensure that the facility not only meets high-performance standards but also enhances the overall visitor experience through innovative and sustainable design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the design process for the Aquatics Centre, establishing a cohesive vision that reflects Qiddiya's commitment to excellence and sustainability.
  • Work closely with architects, landscape designers, and engineers to develop integrated solutions that optimize space usage, functionality, and aesthetics.
  • Prepare and present design concepts to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and project goals.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and address environmental considerations.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Engage with community and user groups to gather inputs that inform the design and enhance user experience.
  • Keep up-to-date with current trends in aquatics design, sustainability practices, and technological advancements in building systems.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the design team.
  • Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to facilitate project success.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture at a minimum
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in designing recreational or aquatic facilities, with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
  • Proven experience in leading design teams and managing large-scale complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of aquatic design principles, building codes, and safety regulations pertaining to aquatic facilities.
  • Ability to conceptualize innovative and functional design solutions in line with user needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
