Job Purpose :
The Head of the Data Management Office at DACO will lead and manage all functions related to data governance, data availability, and data management. This role involves developing and implementing data strategies and data quality and integrity, and facilitating data-driven decision-making. The Director ensures that DACO's data practices align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Position Accountability Description
- Develop and implement data management strategies that align with DACO's vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance data management capabilities and support data-driven decisionmaking.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data management operations and drive continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Lead the analysis and transformation of raw data, development of data pipelines, and ensuring data quality and reliability for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
- Direct regular data cleansing and quality control processes to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
- Oversee the creation and management of data models, exploring integration solutions aligned with the overall data strategy.
- Manage the implementation of data governance policies, processes, and procedures in line with regulations.
- Ensure compliance with data governance charters and assess needs and challenges related to data governance, identifying improvement actions.
- Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics models and algorithms to support data‑driven decision-making.
- Oversee the periodic checks to ensure compliance with set strategy, plans, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and industry partners.
- Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure the implementation of data governance and management practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and develop solutions that drive business value.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the data management team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and oversee training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the data management team.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure team members meet their objectives.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the budget for the data management office, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Monitor financial performance, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and implement measures to achieve financial targets.
- Prepare and present budget reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning in data management.
Risk and Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with alternative regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data management.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with data governance and management.
- Monitor the implementation of recommended corrective actions to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Drive innovation in data management practices through the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking feedback and implementing ideas for enhancement.
Job Requirements
Education Background
Bachelor's degree in business field, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant Experience
Minimum 12 years of total experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.
