JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for providing the formal technical and clinical support during the sales process for a product segment and providing the required pre-sale product demonstrations (or clinical trial support) as well as post-sale installation, training and customer service activities to support sales objectives across all Saudi Arabia regions.
JOB RESPONSBILITIES
- Provide technical and clinical leadership during sales process by demonstrating full range of product features including potential uses, product capabilities and benefits to customers as needed.
- Develop, coordinate and deliver product training to customers on software, application and/or equipment use, monitor customer installations to improve customer satisfaction and maintain customer relationships.
- Provide highly visible customer support through the performance of routine on-site installation and customer training for equipment, applications, and/or systems.
- Assist in creating increased sales revenue by identifying opportunities for new reagent and consumables channels.
- Improve customer satisfaction and socket retention through continuing education on optimization of equipment utilization by customer.
- Liaise with sales specialists and business unit managers to offer the necessary support and full service to customers.
- Liaise with Marketing and sales departments to advise the product specifications.
- Assess special customer requests, recommend a solution and liaise between engineering and sales departments.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related life sciences field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- Strong hands‑on experience with Next‑Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, including instrument operation, workflow optimization, and routine maintenance.
- Solid understanding of end‑to‑end NGS workflows, including:
- Sample preparation and library construction
- Sequencing principles and chemistry
- Run monitoring and performance metrics
- Proven ability to troubleshoot NGS instruments, software, and workflow-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
TROUBLESHOOTING & SUPPORT
- Experience diagnosing and resolving:
- Run failures and workflow interruptions
- Low yield, poor quality scores, and index‑related issues
- Instrument and software error alerts
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance, system checks, and escalation to vendors when required.
- Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and documentation.
TRAINING & KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
- Demonstrated experience in training and supporting laboratory users on NGS workflows and best practices.
- Ability to develop and deliver:
- User training sessions
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Training presentations and troubleshooting guides
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
