Job Purpose

Direct the development, maintenance, and continuous refinement of applications that support key business functions across DACO by overseeing the management of aviation, enterprise application, support applications portfolios and system integrations, identifying improvement opportunities, and managing system integration to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.

Position Accountability Description
Strategic Leadership
  1. Develop and lead the implementation a comprehensive applications management strategy for DACO, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
  2. Drive initiatives to optimize the lifecycle management of aviation applications, enterprise applications, support applications and system integrations enhancing operational efficiency and support for DACO's long-term objectives.
  3. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of applications management practices, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with DACO’s strategic goals.
Operational Excellence
  1. Oversee the building, procurement, integration, maintenance, and upgrade of aviation applications, ensuring they meet DACO's architectural standards and operational needs.
  2. Manage the optimization of resource utilization by eliminating redundant or outdated systems and ensuring compliance with system standards and applicable regulations.
  3. Lead the implementation of rigorous testing, deployment, and maintenance processes to guarantee the high-quality performance and reliability of all aviation applications.
  4. Ensure the alignment and integration of applications across projects, fostering consistency and seamless operation within DACO’s enterprise architecture.
  5. Manage quality control programs to identify and rectify software defects, ensuring sustained high performance and meeting business continuity requirements.
  6. Oversee the continuous monitoring and evaluation of both internal and third-party applications to ensure compliance with DACO’s standards and business requirements.
  7. Oversee the contracts and performance of third-party vendors performing the operation and maintenance of company applications.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Education Background: Bachelor’s degree: Software Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 12 years of total experience in applications management preferred in aviation applications management, including 5 years in a senior management role.
