Job summary
A leading port operations company in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated individual to facilitate communication between shipping lines and container operations. Responsibilities include processing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), reporting discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with deadlines. The ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of experience and strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. This role requires working in a shift system including public holidays.
Qualifications
- Physically and medically fit, with normal color vision and good eyesight.
- Minimum 1 year working experience preferably in a related industry.
- Ability to work in a shift system including Public Holiday.
Responsibilities
- Communicate between shipping lines & container operations.
- Support and complete operational processes.
- Process Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for incoming vessels.
- Ensure updates are completed as per requirements.

Job description
- Communication between shipping lines & container operations involve any container information, port cut off time & pre-billing information
- To support and complete operation processes to achieve the overall sectional objective.
- Works closely with customers, and internal stakeholders on issues and queries.
- Process Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for incoming vessel.
- Ensure EDI processed as per agreed deadline.
- Ensure Load list finalized as per agreed deadline.
- Ensure updates done follows internal or external customer requirement.
- Report or notify of discrepancy if found to internal and external customers.
- Responsible to report any waiver / exclusion for billable item to VPR and Billing Team.
- Responsible to report any miss-alignment or non-adherence to agreed Cut Off time for vessels for follow up to Internal and customer.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior from time to time.
- Responsible for the implementation of Information Security (IS) and IT policies that reflect the organizations needs with regard to the protection of information and assets and the integrity and privacy of the organizations intellectual property.
Requirements
- Physically and medically fit, normal color vision and good eyesight.
- Minimum SPM with credits in English / STPM or Certificate in any discipline.
- Minimum 1 year working experience preferably in a related industry.
- Able to communicate and coordinate with all level of supporting people.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia language both spoken and written.
- The candidates should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, generate high volumes of relevant work, keep business-like approach to daily challenges.
- Ability to work in a shift system including Public Holiday.
