Overview

PPG's Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC) is looking for new professionals to join our high-impact global team. As an ITOC Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting PPG's mission-critical infrastructure by providing real-time monitoring, incident response, and operational support for servers and network systems across the enterprise. This position offers hands‑on exposure to global IT operations and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure system stability, minimize downtime, and maintain business continuity.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot infrastructure and network alerts using enterprise monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Manage and maintain the health and performance of Windows and Linux servers.
  • Perform and verify scheduled backups, and support disaster recovery and recovery testing procedures.
  • Follow knowledge base documentation to resolve incidents and fulfil service requests.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross‑functional IT teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Engage with ISPs and service providers to troubleshoot and escalate connectivity or circuit issues.
  • Work remotely with local site contacts to resolve hardware, configuration, or power‑related problems.
  • Escalate critical or complex incidents to specialized support or engineering teams when necessary.
  • Support infrastructure projects as assigned by the ITOC Shift Supervisor, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Experience using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Palo Alto, Prognosis).
  • Familiarity with network devices (Cisco, Fortinet firewalls, switches, routers, and load balancers).
  • Working knowledge of VPN, WAN, LAN, and SD‑WAN technologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve network outages, latency, and performance issues.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Hands‑on experience in server provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Nasuni).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
  • Knowledge of patching, security hardening, and best practices.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print server operations.
