Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree and possess at least 5 years of related experience, with strong knowledge of WHS standards and fluency in English.

Formación

Overview

The Plant Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator is responsible to implement and administer standardized WHS processes to ensure Safety and Health compliance to Federal, State, Provincial and Local regulations as well as Corporate Policies and Procedures. The WHS Coordinator is expected to contribute to the achievement of Corporate and local targets and savings by eliminating occupational injuries/illnesses, property damage and environmental impacts. This position will specifically focus on improving and safeguarding the Wellbeing Health and Safety of all employees, supporting SPW Safety Domain activities and Safety Management System (ISO 45001). This position will report to the Plant WHS Manager and be responsible for and not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • Oversee/implement WHS training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted.
  • Conduct regular audits of WHS processes and necessary follow up to ensure compliance and advise plant leadership and corporate WHS staff of findings.
  • Analyze injury/illness experience, identify/track injury correlation, determine root causes, implement corrective action and communicate this information to plant leadership and corporate WHS.
  • Manage new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that WHS design specifications and regulations are included.
  • Ensure ergonomic processes implemented/ integrated in an appropriate manner.
  • Manage routine safety reports including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approval.
  • Coordinate communication of WHS regulatory inspection activity with plant leadership.
  • Lead advanced safety reviews and WHS projects to improve key performance metrics and savings.
  • Manage, in partnership with medical, first aids, recordable and lost time cases to help ensure desired outcomes.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the plant\'s safety management system to meet (ISO 45001) and SPW Health and Safety Domain requirements, supervise and improve contractor\'s safety program.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree (Environmental, Industrial, Chemistry or similar).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Safety, Environmental, Engineering at Manufacturing.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal, state and local WHS regulations.
  • Availability to work in shifts.
  • Fluent English.
Desirable
  • Certifications in Safety matters, Master\'s degree related to WHS, Safety, Engineering, Experience in the Automotive industry
