Key Responsibilities

The Incoming Inspection Quality Engineer supports Schneider Electric’s commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability by ensuring that incoming materials and components meet defined specifications, regulatory requirements, and Schneider Electric standards. This role contributes to supplier quality performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a safe and inclusive work environment.

Perform incoming inspection activities for raw materials, components, and purchased parts in accordance with Schneider Electric quality standards, control plans, and technical specifications.

  • Record, analyze, and report inspection results using approved quality systems and tools.
  • Identify non-conforming materials and support containment, segregation, and disposition processes in line with Schneider Electric procedures.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related quality issues (e.g., 5 Whys, basic problem-solving tools).
  • Support supplier quality improvement initiatives under the guidance of senior quality engineers.
  • Ensure proper handling, use, and awareness of calibration status of measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Comply with Schneider Electric’s Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and Quality policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
  • Support internal, customer, and supplier audits as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Schneider Electric’s principles of Lean, Quality, and Sustainability.
  • Creation of SAP incoming inspection plans defined by engineering / LoB

Core Tools

Assist in early deployment and use of Quality Core Tools during process design and launch:

  • FMEA (Process) Participate in FMEA development, updates, and risk reduction actions
  • Control Plans – Support creation and maintenance of control plans during ramp‑up
  • MSA – Assist with measurement system analysis activities and documentation
  • KPIs monitoring process stability during ramp‑up

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).

2-3 years of experience in Quality, Incoming Inspection, or Manufacturing (internship or co‑op experience accepted).

Basic understanding of quality concepts, inspection methods, and problem‑solving tools.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.

Familiarity with basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel. Certification as internal auditor in ISO 9001, 14001, 45000 is a plus.

Languages: English advanced level (required for corporate, customer communication and audits)
