We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and influence across multiple teams and subsystems. In this role, you will drive architectural decisions, ensure system reliability, and champion operational excellence while mentoring engineers and fostering scalable processes. You will collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to design, build, and maintain robust APIs and integration pipelines, while promoting best practices in security, observability, and software quality. This position offers the opportunity to shape engineering standards, impact department-level outcomes, and work in a fully remote, innovative environment. Ideal candidates combine deep technical expertise with strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

Accountabilities

• Lead technical efforts across multiple teams, providing architectural guidance and aligning execution with business goals.
• Own system reliability, observability, and operational excellence, ensuring SLAs are met or exceeded.
• Mentor engineers at all levels, fostering professional growth and encouraging broad technical participation.
• Drive improvements in team processes, delivery quality, and collaboration.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure APIs and integration services (REST, GraphQL, event‑driven).
• Manage API lifecycle, including versioning, authentication, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Develop and maintain integration pipelines between SaaS systems, data sources, and third‑party applications.
• Ensure data consistency, reliability, and integrity across integrated systems, and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Document technical specifications and maintain API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in software engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent (Master’s or relevant certifications preferred).
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, Java, Go, Node.js).
• Experience with API frameworks and tools (Spring Boot, Express.js, FastAPI, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of API design standards (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and API gateways (Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
• Familiarity with message queues and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS).
• Understanding of authentication/authorization frameworks (OAuth2, JWT).
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for mentoring, collaboration, and technical leadership in remote environments.
