A prominent engineering firm in San Luis Potosí seeks a highly skilled SR. Electrical Engineer to design and test power electronics hardware. You will be responsible for validating designs and supporting R&D efforts while ensuring all installations adhere to safety and agency standards. The ideal candidate possesses an Electrical Engineering degree with at least 8 years of experience, particularly in power electronics and controls design. This role involves customer site travel and requires strong technical skills in various engineering practices.

Formación

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in power electronics and switch mode conversion.
  • Proficient in grid connect and PLC system controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Power Electronics hardware design, build, debug, and test, with emphasis on contribution to the design and development process
  • Validate the design for present and future products
  • Support team in research and development efforts for new products or improvements to existing products
  • Evaluate and approve customer installation designs.
  • Conduct complete electrical system analysis, including grid connections, PLC architecture, and remote system monitoring.
  • Resolve field issues
  • Create, review and edit product manuals, specification sheets and internal technical procedures.
  • Support the business on agency and safety related certifications and standards.
Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Power electronics, switch mode conversion and controls design experience required
  • Familiarity with Motor controls desired
  • Experience in grid connect, PLC system controls, and/or remote system monitoring.
  • Proven track record with cross-cultural engagement
  • In-depth understanding of digital, analog and power electronic circuits and components and their functionality
  • Strong background of Power Electronics system assembly/packaging techniques is preferred
  • Customer/product applications support; travel to customer site required
  • Familiarity with safety requirements for high power applications is preferred
  • Familiarity with agency approval process (UL, CE, etc.) a plus
  • Familiarity with motor controls desired
  • Understanding of digital, analog and power electronic components and operation
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with application engineering or customer service in a turbomachinery or clean company
  • Experience with application engineering or customer service on the electrical side of a power generation company.
  • Aptitude to learn technology
  • Experience working in a small to mid-size company where the efforts of one or two individuals are very impactful
