Senior Backend Python Developer – Construction Tech Startup Revolutionizing Construction

We’re building a smart telematics platform in the $20 trillion construction market.

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Backend Python Developer based in AMERICA (Eastern or Central US), to join our engineering team. This role is 100% remote, but you will need to be available for at least a few hours in US Central time zones every day during kick‑offs.

Clue uses data and AI to provide actionable insights that construction companies use to integrate, automate, and optimize their operations.

Our software is used by dozens of the largest construction firms in the US. We’re growing rapidly and backed by one of the world’s largest construction organizations.

Your mission is to…

• Design, develop, and maintain Clue’s backend systems using Python, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Work with SQL databases (MySQL) and AWS services to process and analyze large-scale construction telematics data.
• Develop, test, and deploy APIs that power our mobile and web applications, integrating with various telematics, GPS, and enterprise software platforms.
• Optimize and scale our backend architecture, ensuring seamless data flow between multiple integrations.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data engineers, and product teams to enhance Clue’s platform.
• Implement best practices in backend development, including writing clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.

You fit with us if…

• You have 5+ years of experience in backend development with Python.
• You are proficient in SQL, working with relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• You have experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud services (AWS preferred).
• You have worked with data‑intensive applications, handling large datasets efficiently.
• You have a strong understanding of software architecture and best practices for backend development.
• You have experience working in fast‑moving startups and thrive in an agile, high‑paced environment.
• Bonus: You have worked with construction telematics, GPS, ERP, or maintenance systems such as Caterpillar VisionLink, HCSS, B2W, Viewpoint Vista, or Oracle JDE.
