Direct Procurement (DP) is part of the Yara Global Plants (YGP) Business Unit. The department is responsible for the strategic procurement of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potash (K), Coatings, Carbonates, Chemicals (CCC), and Energy, as well as Yara Maritime Logistics (YML). It comprises six central teams, in addition to teams based in Brazil and Latin America.
DP negotiates and manages contracts for Yara’s plants and markets globally, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and reliable supply. The department procures approximately 15 million tons of products annually. YML handles around 17 million tons of own-produced (OPP) and third-party products (TPP) annually, with a combined value ranging from USD 8 to 12 billion. The DP organization consists of 91 people located across Norway, Belgium, Switzerland, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
Direct Procurement Latam: Direct Procurement Latam is a regional division of DP. It is responsible for sourcing cost-effective raw materials for the production site in Cartagena, Colombia (Nitric Acid, CN, and NPK), as well as third-party products for Yara’s Latin American business units (spanning over 10 countries).The team manages a diverse supplier network— local, regional, and international—covering a broad range of products, including Natural Gas, Ammonia, Nitrogen, Phosphates, Potassium, Micronutrients, Specialties, and Additives.
The Sourcing Negotiator will be one of four members of the Direct Procurement Latam team and will report to the Procurement Director Latin America.
MSc degree in a relevant field; candidates with a BSc degree and relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement, trading, or related commercial roles—preferably within the fertilizer industry.
Good understanding of the global fertilizer market and production processes is an advantage.
Experienced in complex logistics and supply chain operations.
Organized and familiar with contract management.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex topics clearly and effectively.
Strategic thinker with analytical skills and a strong commercial mindset, including proven negotiation capabilities.
Self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented with a high level of autonomy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, BI tools, and other relevant IT systems.
Fluent in both written and spoken Spanish and English.
