A leading manufacturing company in Mexico is seeking a costing expert in manufacturing technologies. The role involves developing cost models, supporting procurement teams, and identifying target parts for cost savings. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a Master's degree in Manufacturing or Product Engineering, and over 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and design engineering. Proficiency in costing software and project management skills are essential for success in this role.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing engineering or Design Engineering.
• Experience with metal fabrication processes and cost structures.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and communicate effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be a costing expert for manufacturing technologies, such as metal, Fab & Machining, Composites, Electronic Manufacturing, Cable and Harness, among others.
• Develop Should Cost models, using costing software from aPriori, plus other cost modelling software. Prepare, generate and deliver costing reports for the costed parts/assemblies.
• Support the Procurement teams to use the Should Cost data to better understand the cost drivers of a part and to better negotiate with suppliers.
• Support the Engineering teams to develop cost models to help avoid cost during the development process.
• In cooperation with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Procurement, identify suitable target parts where savings can be made.
• Understand Global market trends as it relates to the supply and manufacture of parts used within Vertiv products
• Working with Procurement, use the price trends for critical materials to ensure that the Should Cost parameters are as accurate as possible
• Identify areas where should cost can be made in addition of cost reduction projects and workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Master’s degree in Manufacturing or Product Engineering.
• 5+ of experience in Manufacturing engineering, Design Engineering or relevant technical field. Experience in the new product development process would be a benefit.
• Experience of the manufacturing processes for metal fabrication techniques (Fab & Machining), Electronic Manufacturing and Test processes, preferably with experience with the cost structures related to these.
• Experience with the use of should costing software, preferably aPriori, plus other cost modelling processes.
• Experience with the use of CAD and 3D software.
• Proficient with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, graphs), Power Point, MS Project and Word
• Experience with Smartsheet would be a benefit
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritization, communication, etc..., and willing to work in different time zones (as required)
• Excellent inter-personal skills, and the ability to influence work colleagues at all levels
• Willing to travel to other Vertiv locations globally (as required)
