A technology solutions provider seeks a Senior / Lead QA Automation Engineer to develop and implement a QA strategy and test automation framework. This fully remote role is ideal for a seasoned professional with 3-7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably with strong skills in both UI and API test automation. The candidate will work collaboratively with development teams and leverage tools like Cypress, Selenium, and Postman for automation. Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities are a must, along with proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript or Python.

Formación

• 3–7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering in Test (SDET).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go).
• Strong understanding of frontend + backend application architecture.

Core Requirements

• A Seasoned Full Stack QA Automation Engineer
• Front-End Angular to Backend Golang, APIs, Databases
• This resource will assess and define from scratch the QA Strategy / Test Automation Framework, staying hands‑on
• Strategy will include Test Automation, Deployment, CICD integration, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Testing
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites for web, mobile, and backend systems.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance (UAT), smoke, and sanity testing.
  • Validate API behavior using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or custom automation frameworks.
• Automation Engineering
  • Build and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend services using Cypress / Playwright / Selenium / WebDriverIO (UI); Pytest / Jest / Mocha / JUnit / TestNG (backend + unit); REST Assured / Karate / Postman Runner (API).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, Azure DevOps).
• Full-Stack Coverage
  • Test frontend applications built with React, Angular, Vue, etc.
  • Validate backend logic, microservices, data flows, caching, and distributed system behaviors.
  • Validate databases (SQL / NoSQL), schema changes, migrations, and data integrity.
• Engineering Collaboration
  • Work closely with developers on debugging issues, reproducing defects, and identifying root causes.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions to ensure testability.
  • Contribute to coding standards, quality gates, and release readiness criteria.
• DevOps, Observability, & Performance
  • Perform load, stress, scalability, and performance testing using tools like JMeter, Locust, Gatling, or K6.
  • Monitor logs and metrics via Datadog, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or GCP Stackdriver.
  • Assist in building reliable pipelines with automated quality gates.
• Process & Documentation
  • Document defect patterns, test strategies, and automation architecture.
  • Lead quality reviews during sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Advocate best QA practices and continuous improvement across the SDLC.

Required Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering in Test (SDET).
• Strong understanding of frontend + backend application architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with UI + API + backend test automation.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go).
• Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
• Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized test environments.
• Familiarity with contract testing frameworks (Pact, Hoverfly).
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL workflows, or ML / AI‑powered systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum with story grooming and test estimation.
