A global engineering firm is seeking a qualified individual for a Hydraulic Engineer position in Santa Catarina, Mexico. This role involves managing design and performance of hydraulic cylinder products while collaborating with various teams to ensure quality and cost efficiency. Candidates should possess a Mechanical Engineering degree and have knowledge of the hydraulics industry. The position requires effective communication and project management skills, offering a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (preferably Mechanical).
  • Intermediate to Advanced English-speaking level.
  • Familiarity with cylinder component suppliers and manufacturing processes.

Job Summary

The IC Global Hydraulics Cylinder Design Engineering team is seeking a qualified individual to provide technical and manufacturing support of cylinder and suspension products produced in Santa Catarina N.L., Mexico. This individual will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design, functionality, performance, and integration of hydraulic cylinder products for the manufacturing environment in coordination with the cylinder engineering team.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Global/Regional purchasing and manufacturing facility teams to support the product quality & cost targets, supplier process audit, sourcing, PPAP/APQP process validation
  • Contribute to multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) cylinder development projects, New Technology Integration (NTI) projects, and product cost/quality improvement projects
  • Design responsibility for hydraulic cylinder & suspension products; accountable for meeting customer expectations for product cost, quality, and delivery (for example)
  • Conduct Concept and Detailed Design Reviews with the Global Engineering teams
  • Troubleshoot field failures, Warranty claims, factory issues
  • Responsible for detailed drawing release and maintenance, conduct continuous product and process development and manage the product Bill of material
  • Aligned objectives with product groups, suppliers, and manufacturing process partners
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum (preferably Mechanical).
  • Intermediate to Advanced English-speaking level.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics industry
  • Develops, updates, and monitors SOPs to ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with organizational and industry standards.
Effective Communications
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members
  • Communicates effectively by giving constructive feedback, listening openly, presenting clearly, and using appropriate language and non-verbal cues.
Design for Manufacturability
  • Ability to effectively develop and manage project plans from concept to production
Engineering
  • Familiarity with cylinder component suppliers and manufacturing processes
Top candidates will have
  • Working knowledge in Project management, hands on Creo, Tolerance Stack-up, and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with metallurgical and non-destructive evaluation and validation of welds common in hydraulic cylinder manufacture.
  • The ability to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions.
  • A sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to quality
  • Due to collaboration with global product development teams, available for flexible work hours.
Additional Information
  • Location preference of this position is Santa Catarina, MX.
  • Work schedule is set Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • This position may require 10% International and Domestic travel.
