A leading audio and video technology company in Tijuana is seeking a Laboratory Engineer to develop and lead reliability testing for headsets and other products. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electronics or Computer Science and hands-on experience in software testing, RF product testing, and quality assurance. Strong communication skills, leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate closely with various teams are essential for success in this role.

Role Overview

As a Laboratory Engineer in the Quality Assurance Department, you will be responsible lead and develop the current reliability qualification testing for all our Headsets, Parts and Processes following the QA test methods based on the current International validation requirements participating in the support of the Insourcing projects.

Your Day to Day

• Build, test, and modify product prototypes, using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
• Specify requirements, test configuration, system performance and design specifications.
• Work with other engineering groups and consult on specifications to evaluate hardware and software performance requirements expectations.
• Use understanding of software, environmental, reliability and mechanical testing.
• Constantly generate, distribute, and review Quality test reports, assessments and conclusions with other Engineering functions as required.
• Complete Work Requests; including performing testing of product and completing test reports.
• Work with others in and out of the lab to develop new methods for required testing needs.
• Train others on new or updated testing methods.
• Focus for growth in all product lines including but not limited to the video, voice, headset, and software platforms.
• Collaborate with all BUs to ensure that the lab is in alignment with business needs.
• Coordinate efforts to update and create lab testing best practices policies.
• Provide information and lead times for lab activities.

Qualifications

• BS in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Experience in hands on Software testing
• Experience with Headset and teleconferencing New product development and sustaining testing.
• Experience with Rf product testing (Bluetooth and DECT)
• Experience with Field failure analysis
• Knowledge of Unified Communications products and technologies
• Experience with QA best practices
• Experience with managing equipment calibration
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven track record of success in previous leadership work experience
