Overview
PPS Quality and Project Management will lead quality activities for Battery Tray and Pack, manage program milestones, train personnel, and standardize SMP, SOP, and quality metrics across the technology cycle.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate quality activities and training for Battery Tray and Pack.
- Manage inventory, ensure spare parts availability, and audit maintenance compliance.
- Maintain and update welding matrices and procedural changes to eliminate variation between amp sheets and process.
- Achieve 90% OPE of assigned equipment.
- Develop projects to reduce transformation cost and benchmark strategies with sister plants to prevent injuries.
- Provide technical training on Leak Test machine, welding, and sealing processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives using SPW methodologies.
- Analyze execution of battery tray and package components and support production loss prevention.
- Organize Plant & Quality resources efficiently during Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing processes for new equipment, trial production, and launch operations, KAI's & KPI's.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in welding process (MIG; TIG manual and automatic).
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Aeronautical, Controls, Systems, ChemEng, Physics, or equivalent ABET accredited university.
- Proficiency communicating in technical English.
- Highly developed communication skills.
- Knowledge in IATF, GD&T, CQI15.
- Knowledge in cut and etch method, destructive testing for weld conformance validation.
- Experience developing P-FMEA and CP.
- Experience with troubleshooting tools: DMAIC, DOE, Pareto, 8D's, and A3.
- Knowledge and follow-up of quality indicators.
- Soft skills: Self‑directed, collaborative (teamwork), ownership, sense of urgency / agile, achiever, leadership & project management skills.
- MIG welding and TIG welding experience on fine tuning, adjusted parameters.
- Prior experience with software Lincon, Weld Spun, WTC.
- Trained and experience in problem‑solving methods like Kaizen, Shainin (Red‑X), RPS.
