A global data engineering firm is seeking an experienced Python Developer to join its distributed team in Mexico. In this hybrid role, you'll work on impactful pipelines and tools for web scraping, ETL, and parsing. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and at least 3 years of experience in Python within a cloud development environment, ideally with Azure. Your strong communication skills and Agile expertise will contribute to a collaborative and efficient workspace.

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join our globally distributed Data Engineering team.

Our Python Developer will work on pipelines and tools for web scraping, ETL and parsing.

This work is incredibly impactful and will directly impact our product's success.

This is a full-time, contract, role that reports directly to our Director of Data Engineering.

About you

You are an experienced Python Developer with experience in a cloud development environment (we use Azure) on an Agile team.

You might already have experience using tools like Scrapy, Beautiful Soup and Databricks, and if you don't, you're eager to get up to speed.

You know work doesn't get done in a vacuum and in addition to your coding chops you also have strong communication skills to round things out.

You also understand what it means to work on a distributed team and aren't afraid of occasional early calls with our teams in Europe.

As our Python Developer, you will

• Design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable, and scalable code for backend systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Write code as part of a collaborative team, building backend features that are essential to our client's daily operations
• Implement solutions with autonomy, collaborating with engineering leads to architect solutions
• Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing systems, ensuring that all business logic is well documented
• Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging best practices and continuous learning

To be successful, you should have

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience working with Python
• Experience with a cloud development environment, ideally Azure
• Expert-level knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Experience with coding standards, architecture, and continuous integration practices
• Experience with learning new technologies and techniques
