Dematic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to join our Product Development group in our Technology Center in Monterrey, Mexico. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in mechanical design, verification, validation, and sustaining activities of industrial machinery. This role involves collaborating in the design, development, and sustaining of mechatronic products for various industry verticals, including food & beverage, apparel, and e-commerce. The position reports to the Mechatronics Manager.

What you will do in this role
- Design and develop complex mechatronic products from concept through release, integrating mechanical and electrical components and owning the full product development lifecycle, including requirements, prototyping, testing, validation, and release support.
- Create, model, and modify parts and sub‑systems using Siemens NX, ensuring designs meet functional requirements, industry standards, and best practices for manufacturability, serviceability, and installation.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, cross‑functional problem solving, and continuous product improvement initiatives, providing technical guidance and ensuring design accuracy and standardization.
- Support manufacturing, quality, procurement, operations, sales, and installation teams, including managing engineering change processes and maintaining accurate technical documentation and change control compliance.
- Plan and support low‑ to medium‑complexity product development projects, including scheduling reviews, coordinating resources, supporting budget considerations, and providing on‑site technical support, testing, and validation as needed.
- Apply applicable engineering standards and tools (UL, CE, AWS, GD&T, FEA, PLM) while demonstrating technical leadership, original problem‑solving, and accountability for design performance and documentation.
What we are looking for
- Proactive, detail-oriented engineer with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, demonstrating a problem-solving mindset and high engineering standards.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and development of industrial equipment or machinery, with hands‑on exposure to testing, installation, and commissioning preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering required; professional license is mandatory.
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and drafting, preferably using Siemens NX, including machined, sheet metal, extruded, and plastic parts and sub‑systems.
- Strong understanding and application of engineering standards such as UL, CE, and AWS throughout the product development process.
- Experience using GD&T, FEA, and familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools; Teamcenter experience is a strong plus.
- Communicates effectively in English and Spanish, working confidently in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
