Job purpose

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Advance Manufacturing Engineer. The main responsibilities of this role include managing new business opportunities (NBO) quotations, monitoring CAPEX, ensuring capacity planning and effective equipment utilization according to the Long-Range Plan (LRP).

Key responsibilities
  • Develop budgets and ensure timely, reliable quotations using the Global Quotation System (GQS), including feasibility studies.
  • Monitor CAPEX spending by department/owner/forecast, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate CAPEX budget requests for upcoming fiscal years.
  • Ensure capacity planning and effective equipment utilization in alignment with LRP, in coordination with PLMs and Manufacturing Engineering Coordinators.
  • Evaluate and track NBO product requirements to ensure manufacturing capacity and volume ramp-up for existing products, working with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide functional support to PLMs or Program Managers during program reviews (GATE reviews) as needed.
  • Define manufacturing standards and specifications, leveraging BW technology knowledge and market/competitor insights.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies for NBO programs.
  • Develop machine specifications for new equipment purchases.
  • Collaborate with and support ITC in the development of new technologies and products.
  • Research and compare the latest process technologies and manufacturing techniques to continuously improve product quality and cost.
  • Train Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineers on the operation of new equipment.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers, employees, and all levels of management.
  • Support the development of APQP documentation in accordance with AIAG standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure personnel safety during industrialization and initial sample production phases
What we’re looking for

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related).
  • Experience Time in similar position: 3–5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet program deliverables. Program management experience. Proficient in applying lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Other requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office
