About the Role

The Operations Associate (GS-6) plays a critical role in supporting the effective and compliant delivery of UNICEF’s operational services. The position supports the operations team in ensuring that UNICEF office and staff are equipped with the operational support and resources necessary to deliver results for children—on time and within budget. The Operations Associate (GS-6) is entrusted to support the operations team and align their work to the five core pillars: Valuing People, Valuing Money, Valuing Risk Management, Valuing Systems and Structures, and Valuing Partners.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
  • Work Experience:
    • A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible administrative, secretarial, or clerical work experience.
    • Three (3) years and an additional two (2) years of experience may be substituted for candidates holding a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, respectively.
    • Experience supporting large‑scale projects or operations in administration, finance, or supply management.
    • Experience working directly with senior management of an international or multinational organization.
  • Language Requirements:
    • Fluency in Spanish.
    • Understanding of the English language at the Intermediate level required. Commitment to improving English skills is expected within the first six months of work.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in a UN system agency.
  • Previous experience with SAP (VISION) or similar ERPs.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
  • Fluency in English.
