We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee our manufacturing operations in a dynamic metal mechanic environment. This role will manage a team of 5 salaried supervisors and over 200 hourly employees across a two-shift operation. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record in production management, process engineering, continuous improvement, and team development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to production, process engineering, and continuous improvement teams.
  • Manage a two-shift manufacturing operation, including production planning, troubleshooting, staffing, order monitoring, scheduling, and technical training.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion a lean culture throughout the organization.
  • Analyze production and operational reports, identifying and resolving issues to reduce costs and prevent delays.
  • Support supervisors in employee relations, problem-solving, goal setting, scheduling, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Partner with plant staff to develop and implement safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and sustain 6S methodology across the shop floor and facility.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, state, and federal regulations with a focus on sustainability.
  • Collaborate with HR and supervisors to address employee concerns and workplace issues effectively.
  • Develop and maintain operational budgets, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional-level manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of managerial or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in metal mechanic manufacturing systems.
  • Skilled in developing supervisors and team leaders.
  • Strong problem-solving and change management skills.
  • Experience working in unionized environments.
  • Proven ability to lead operational turnarounds and implement cultural change.
