Overview
Through active leadership, coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and refurbishment work on equipment and machinery throughout the plant, maintaining a high level of effectiveness in meeting department indicators. Ensure compliance by the department and its staff with industrial safety and environmental guidelines, adherence to quality, health, and food safety standards, ensuring maximum productivity and optimal costs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and refurbishment work on plant equipment and machinery.
- Ensure compliance with industrial safety and environmental guidelines, quality, health, and food safety standards (GMPs, SQF, HACCP, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with the maintenance and production program, guaranteeing product safety and adherence to GMPs, processes, policies, and regulations established by the organization.
- Comply with the established maintenance program in a timely manner to avoid production downtime.
- Ensure cleanliness in maintenance areas, preventing contamination of food products.
- Attract, onboard, manage, and develop associates based on safety, quality, service, and cost criteria.
- Develop basic technical training materials for operational and health personnel (operation and maintenance manuals, CILs, lubrication charts, and inspection checklists).
- Train maintenance technicians, operational, and health personnel according to the autonomous maintenance strategy defined in RICHs' TPM strategy; conduct audits to ensure proper execution.
- Ensure that all operators, mechanics, electrical technicians, etc., have the necessary operation manuals, layouts, technical manuals, maintenance sheets, and spare parts lists.
- Establish shift roles and record incidents for associates under supervision.
- Monitor the preventive maintenance program, providing feedback to the planning department on modifications, abnormalities, and frequency.
- Ensure maintenance associates close notices and corrective & preventive work orders promptly.
- Allocate resources to resolve corrective deviations immediately, maintaining line efficiency and meeting production schedules.
- Immediately identify and eliminate unsafe acts or conditions.
- Ensure the correct use of the preventive maintenance system.
- Conduct statistical analyses of failures and issue notifications; create a work plan to eliminate root causes.
- Innovate in production and maintenance processes to achieve savings that impact company results.
- Provide timely maintenance start‑up and asset delivery.
- Participate in engineering, R&D, and continuous improvement meetings for new plant projects.
- Ensure proper shift handover.
- Manage and supervise execution of special work (welding, confined spaces, work at heights, etc.) and maintain the workshop in safe and hygienic conditions per 6S, Kaizen, TPM, etc.
- Control maintenance expenses and the assigned budget; implement control plans for deviations.
- Enforce safe equipment intervention guidelines and plant Environmental Policy and Management System.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar positions, including PLC control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Industry 4.0, ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, cooling towers, water treatment plants, air compressors, TPM, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic engineering.
- CAPEX project planning and execution experience.
- Strong English speaking, writing, and reading skills.
