Formación

  • At least 12 years of experience, with 7 in industrial engineering or related fields.

Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer SME II will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems that ensure performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control within the production site or region. The goal is to enhance profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, and the continuous improvement of products and services throughout their life cycles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Lead and supervise site or regional projects to eliminate waste through standard Industrial Engineering processes, including complex process simulation, operations research, and business model cost analysis.
  2. Evaluate large-scale challenges in workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. Lead and evaluate cross-functional projects to optimize large-scale initiatives.
  4. Serve as Subject Matter Expert in all global and regional IE systems, applications, and practices.
  5. Communicate key Industrial Engineering metrics to regional teams.
  6. Define standardization for SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations.
  7. Prepare complex quotes for new large-scale manufacturing projects, including line design, labor, equipment sizing, and infrastructure.
  8. Support and advise Business Unit Coordinators and Managers on process reliability, profitability, and project assumptions.
  9. Lead process improvement activities for New Product Introduction.
  10. Coach, mentor, and train engineers within the Industrial Engineering team and other functional teams.
  11. Ensure standardization of processes across the site in accordance with global, regional, and site directives.
  12. Develop and support IE best practices with data to optimize existing practices.
  13. Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and data integrity for process improvement.
  14. Follow all security procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities

This role typically reports to management or leadership (e.g., Sr. Manager, Director, VP). It does not involve direct management of employees in terms of hiring, termination, or performance management.

Knowledge Requirements
  • Broad application of industrial engineering tools (work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities design, operations research, etc.)
  • Understanding of Jabil’s strategies and direction
  • Data science skills preferred
  • Knowledge of site facilities and capabilities
  • Strong financial and analytical skills (P&L, planning, delivery)
  • Proven success in change management, continuous improvement, and cost reduction
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety standards and Quality Systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, and AutoCAD
Education & Experience
  • Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering required
  • MS in Industrial Engineering or MBA preferred
  • Lean Masters Certificate or Six Sigma Silver preferred
  • At least 12 years of experience, with 7 in industrial engineering or related fields
