Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and versatile General Manager to lead our newly formed wholesale company in Mexico. This standalone entity will handle all aspects of importing industrial PPE and selling to distributors. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with comprehensive knowledge of running a business in Mexico, including operations, supply chain management, finance, government regulations, and import laws. They will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, build key relationships, and support the established sales team. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Position based in Mexico. Preferred location is Monterrey, with consideration for candidates in Mexico City if experience is aligned.
Job Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Mexican subsidiary, including inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and order fulfillment to ensure efficient importation and distribution of PPE products.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage end‑to‑end supply chain processes from sourcing and importing goods to coordinating with local distributors, optimizing cost, timeliness, and quality control.
- Financial Oversight: Handle budgeting, financial planning, accounting, and reporting, ensuring accurate records, tax compliance, and profitability analysis in Mexican and international standards.
- Regulatory and Compliance Expertise: Navigate Mexican regulations, import/export laws (customs duties, tariffs, USMCA), labor laws, environmental standards, and health/safety requirements. Maintain compliance with SAT, IMSS, SEMARNAT, and others.
- Team Building and Management: Recruit, train, and manage a local team across operations and finance, fostering a culture of performance and compliance.
- Stakeholder Relations: Develop strong relationships with customs brokers, government officials, regulatory bodies, suppliers, and industry associations to facilitate smooth operations.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business plans, risk management strategies, and growth initiatives; report regularly to U.S. headquarters on performance metrics, challenges, and opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and legal risks associated with importing and distributing PPE in Mexico.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years senior management experience in a standalone company or subsidiary in Mexico, preferably in wholesale, import/export, or manufacturing.
- In‑depth knowledge of Mexican business operations, corporate setup, taxation, labor laws, and import regulations.
- Proven expertise in supply chain and logistics, with experience in importing goods under international trade agreements.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with Mexican accounting standards (NIF) and financial software.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and verbal) required; must effectively communicate with U.S. headquarters.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate government bureaucracy and maintain compliance in a regulated industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
Skills and Competencies
- Existing relationships with Mexican customs authorities, regulatory officials, logistics providers, and industry networks in the PPE or industrial goods sector.
- Experience in the PPE, safety equipment, or related industrial products industry.
- Familiarity with U.S.-Mexico cross‑border operations and USMCA compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and data analytics tools.
- Certification in international trade, supply chain (e.g., CSCP), or Mexican business law is a plus.
