POSITION SUMMARY

The SFA (Special Feature Authorization) Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and release of customizations to chillers; will work in a cross‑functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solve complex problems where no precedence exists.o precedence exists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings
• Create and review electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards
• Create and revise wire harnesses
• Check and approve drawings and bill of materials
• Work with software team to develop and verify CRAC system controls
• Work with development scientist to validate setup of new electrical customizations
• Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
• Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2‑4 years of experience in an electrical engineering field.
• Ability to work and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism
• Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members
• Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process
• Excellent project management skills and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
• Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), IEEE 519, UL 508A SB

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred 4–8 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field: experience with Chillers preferred
• Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
• Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
• Knowledge of UL60335‑2‑40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards
• Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation
• Experience with communications and interconnects standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
