TE Connectivity's Environmental Health & Safety Teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety, and hazardous material standards, procedures, and practices consistent with TE, environmental, and government regulations.
Job Scope/Complexity:
• Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Identify and correct issues that are not immediately evident in existing systems or processes by analyzing information and generating ideas.
• Deliver results according to specific targets in direct support of department objectives.
• Audit procedures and work instructions.
• Evaluate legal compliance.
• Implement activities, programs, and procedures to accomplish legal requirements.
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion on time.
Knowledge Level:
• Apply knowledge of a specific discipline to resolve problems of moderate scope requiring analysis and evaluation of various factors.
• Develop professional expertise and concepts.
• Apply company policies and practices to resolve semi-routine issues.
• Strong knowledge of job safety analysis and creating standard work instructions.
• Proficient in conducting the "Cedula de Operacional Anual" and gathering all required information.
Key Competencies/Knowledge Application:
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment within defined policies and procedures.
• Work under general supervision.
• Usually receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
• Collaborate with colleagues and may train or mentor others; build productive internal/external relationships.
• Strong knowledge of handling suppliers and contractors.
Must Haves:
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in Environmentally Safe & Healthy or Industrial Engineering).
• 3-5 years of experience in similar roles.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Experience implementing Mexican norms (medio ambiente y seguridad laboral) and international standards.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and 45001.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Safety Machine Nom-004-STPS.
• Experience creating and delivering training.
• Experience in developing emergency plans.
• Knowledge of high-risk jobs such as working at heights, lockout & tag out, crane operations.
Desirables:
• Good communication skills across all levels.
• Ability to create Canva presentations and videos.
• Experience creating Power BI dashboards.
• Ability to develop crisis management procedures.
• Follow-up experience with Management of Change.
• Knowledge of civil protection permits.
• Knowledge of ISO 13849-1.
