An investment research firm is seeking a dedicated individual to monitor economic indicators, perform data analysis, and create quantitative models. You will work from home in Mexico and contribute to visualizing complex data clearly. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and experience in financial statistics. The role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in BI tools. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Experience in financial statistics is essential.
• Self-directed with a focus on data quality.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor economic indicators and assess their strength.
• Create quantitative models to rate datasets.
• Backtest models and check result consistency.
• Establish correlations between major market events and the S&P 500.
• Generate dashboards and visualizations of data.

Knowledge in utilizing BI tools

BARKING DOG INVESTMENTS is a research investment firm dedicated to the analysis of US economic data and its relationship to risk assets.

Responsibilities

• Monitor economic indicators and determine their strength or weakness in the context of the economic cycle and the life of the dataset.
• Create quant models that rates datasets in an unbiased fashion.
• Backtest models and confirm result consistency.
• Find correlations between major market and econ events and the S&P 500.
• Create dashboards that synthesize large bodies of information.
• Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or equivalent experience.
• Experience in financial statistics.
• High analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to present technical information clearly and accurately.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Google docs skills is a must.
• Knowledge in utilizing BI tools for the creation and manipulation of data.
• Experience querying data, data manipulation and report generation.
• Self-directed with a passion for data and data quality focused on driving business performance.
