Celanese is looking for a talented country controller to join our Controllership team in Mexico serving Brazil and Argentina entities. You will interact with various teams in Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, Foreign Trade, Tax and Service Centers as part of your daily routine to develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and tax obligations. This role will lead accounting and be an effective liaison with 3rd party Taxes and FP&A, Operations (AP, AR, payrolls etc.) and Insurance in service centers.

Your daily responsibilities will be:

  • Review monthly financial statements and reports for management as needed.
  • Close follow up monthly/quarterly financial closing process in service centers.
  • Manage annual audit and relationship with audit firm (established RACI).
  • Support annual process budget.
  • Responsible of financial controls (Sox)
  • Lead or assist in due diligence reviews.
  • Lead financial processes in global initiatives.
  • Work together with tax area to comply tax requirements/compliance.
  • Participate and support annual tax return process.
  • Review DSCI FP&A reporting process identifying, and analyzing variances, and providing timely insights on financial performance.
  • Support and follow up monthly reconciliation process.
  • Validate financial resources access to ERPs and bank portals.
  • Approve monthly local payments and support travel management area.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration.
  • 4-6 years’ relevant experience in finance controllership at a multinational company.
  • Comprehensive & technical GAAP accounting skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or comparable system.
  • Strong language skills: advanced English is required; basic to intermediary Portuguese is desirable.
  • Highly organized and deadline driven individual that can deal with multiple conflicting demands.
  • Sense of urgency, attention to details and learning curiosity.
  • Effective communication skills with peers and all leaders in Global.
  • Strong software skills - especially in MS Excel and other MS Office products, SAP experience is a must
  • Impeccable ethics and discretion.
