A leading political risk consultancy in Mexico City is seeking a Business Development Manager. This entry-level position requires a bachelor's degree and at least two years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will contribute to client development while working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in English and Spanish is required, along with strong initiative and interpersonal skills. The role allows for remote work during current health conditions, transitioning to in-office once safe.

Join to apply for the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER role at Emerging Markets Political Risk Analysis (EMPRA) in Mexico City. The position is open as of 7 months ago and seeks a new Business Manager for our Mexico City-based team. This role is entry level and full‑time.

Responsibilities
  • Directly contribute to the development of EMPRA's client base, product offerings, and deliver analysis to clients.
  • Build the company's presence in Mexico and abroad, including client base, network of contacts, and strategic partnerships.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies across brands, markets, services, and languages.
  • Contribute to improving clients' experiences by assisting them with their needs and developing new products.
  • Track client expectations and ensure they are fulfilled.
  • Assist in daily operational activities including proofreading, formatting of documents, and other tasks.
  • Develop and implement new tools to facilitate operations across areas.
  • Process onboarding of new clients and staff.
  • Facilitate hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Track expenses and finances.
  • Report to the deputy director of operations and other senior management.
  • Comfort working in fast‑paced high‑pressure environments.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a business‑related field, marketing, or communications. If your degree is not one of these fields, you may demonstrate relevant experience. Please detail this in your CV and cover letter.
  • At least two years of experience in business environments, preferably in a corporate context.
  • Experience working directly with clients to turn their vision into marketable products.
  • Very personable attitude with a strong capacity to work well with various teams.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently without supervision.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. Additional languages are valued but not required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS coding.
  • Familiarity with supplier management platforms (e.g. SAP Ariba).
  • Knowledge of consulting practices is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of Google AdWords and other advertising platforms.
  • Experience with customer management platforms and/or database management.
Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
