Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all purchasing activities related to the program (excluding CAPEX).
- Responsible with the commodity buyer for sourcing activity.
- Responsible for the purchasing budget (hours & money) allocated for the project. In charge to manage closed purchase order for the project and to follow payment schedule.
- Responsible for the non-event launch related to supplier.
Sourcing process:
- In the respect of the purchasing policy, establish the supplier short list for the project with the commodity buyers.
- Gather all key information for complex RFQ and identify the market constraints, the targets, and the time schedule for each activity.
- Negotiate according to the quality, cost and deadline project’s targets. Address the sourcing recommendation to the Sourcing Board. Write the contracts and implement them.
Ordering and payment:
- Manage purchase requests and purchase orders related to the project.
- Follow payment schedule to suppliers.
Coordination & tracking:
- Identify the project’s risks and opportunities, plan each activity, coordinate them internally & externally and track them up to final realization.
- In case of critical topics related to suppliers, lead associate task forces, and escalate to the commodity team and management.
Supplier quality & non-event launch:
- Participate in Supplier APQP project plan definition and follow-up (led by the Supply Engineer).
- Support Supplier engineer on major roadblocks related to Supplier APQP.
- Attend launch readiness and track purchasing deep red points. Implement Tier 2 readiness process with the objective of non-event launch related to suppliers.
- Organize project transfer to the commodity buyer.
Project Management:
- Define initial Statement of Work of purchasing perimeter including extended team, regarding project perimeter, development budget (hours, hourly rate, travel cost), split of activity between Supplier Project Manager and extended team.
- Lead functionally the extended team activity for the project.
- Responsible for following up on critical topics identified during milestones review.
Budget management:
- Validate at the beginning of the project that provisional budget (hours and cost) is in accordance with initial project perimeter and objectives.
- Propose adjustments and modifications linked to perimeter evolution during project lifetime.
Continuous improvement and project closure:
- Participate in continuous improvements for job, organizations, and methodology.
- Participate in capitalization and productivity actions.
- At the end of the project, participate in project closure and provide feedback on best practices and difficulties.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering, Science, or Business School with purchasing specialization.
- Knowledge of project management in automotive or plastics industry.
- Purchasing knowledge, technical negotiations, project management, finance & cash management.
