Descripción del empleo
We’re Hiring: Backend Engineer

Full-Time | Long-Term | CST Time Zone | English B2–C2

Remote from Aguascalientes (or anywhere in Mexico) ONLY.

  • Competitive Salary
  • 20 Vacation Days + Flexible Hours
The Role:

Hristov Development is a high-performance boutique firm. We are looking for a Backend Engineer to take immediate ownership of our Solutions Integration environment. We don't need a script-writer. We need an Infrastructure Owner.

You will inherit a legacy environment of Python scripts running on AWS Lambda that are in need of performance and automation refactoring. Your mission is to audit this environment, wrest control from external dependencies, and re-architect it into a robust, asynchronous, automated machine.

The Mission:
  • Total Ownership: Take administrative control of our AWS environment. You will manage IAM roles, Security Groups, and API Gateways. You do not open tickets for other teams to fix your infra; you fix it.
  • The "Async" Shift: Refactor synchronous, timeout-prone integrations into Event-Driven Architectures (using SQS, SNS, and Async/Await patterns) to handle high-volume data without crashing.
  • Kill the "Works on My Machine": Replace manual local builds with a true CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions / AWS CodePipeline).
  • Language Agnostic Architecture: Our legacy scripts are in Python. You can maintain them, or rewrite them in Node.js/TypeScript/Go—as long as the solution is robust, documented, and serverless.
What We Need (The Non-Negotiables):
  • AWS Governance: You have experience setting up IAM Users, Roles, and Policies from scratch. You understand Least Privilege.
  • Serverless Mastery: You know why a Lambda times out and how to fix it (Fan-out patterns, Step Functions, or Queues). You don't just increase the timeout limit.
  • CI/CD Experience: You have built deployment pipelines that run tests and deploy to production automatically on git push.
  • API Resilience: You understand Rate Limiting, Exponential Backoff, and Webhook security (HMAC).
  • API Mastery: You know REST, SOAP, webhooks, and how to handle rate limits and authentication (OAuth/Tokens) securely.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with Terraform or Serverless Framework (IaC).
  • Experience migrating "messy" legacy code to modern standards.
