Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.

Performs a variety of technical duties and activities including experimental procedures, collection of data from manufacturing process, data analysis and graphical analysis providing deep process insight.

Applies process engineering knowledge, skills and expertise from concept through delivery of process and equipment at production areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Individual contributor, lead or team member with clear direction provided by responsible Engineer or Supervisor, with ownership of a significant part of the accomplishment within the assignment
  • Sketch 3D drawings on Parametric software focused on projects and continuous improvement
  • Validates equipment Designs, simulates Automated solutions
  • Generates additive manufacturing prototypes, proto parts machining
  • Assist on component selection for Automation and fixturing creation based on high technical knowledge
  • Diagnose equipment performance applying knowledge of engineering principles and methods to identify root causes
  • Utilize statistical tools, engineering data, to help developing process understanding to support robust manufacturing processes
  • Support execution of roadmap and project portfolio
  • Support problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and propose resolution
  • Work on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of several factors
  • Performs electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting
  • Performs adjustments on Sensors, and components as required based on documentation reporting changes to supervisor when they are needed
  • Reviews and controls SISTEMA validations assures compliance and Uploads data to EEM
  • Integrates Prototype components to Automation Projects as directed
Experiences/Education - Required

A. Education.

  • Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering Technical Degree
  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree or higher in relevant discipline is a Plus
  • Bilingual (proficient level of English)

B. Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience in Technical manufacturing engineering or education and 0-2 years of experience in Process/Manufacturing engineering, Quality, NPI or Product Engineering in a multi-product manufacturing environment using Statistical Process Control or/ and Quality Control & Risk Assessment
  • 5 years of Equipment development and Integration experience
  • Electrical and mechanical skills (Tools and measurement systems)
  • Measurement tools knowledge (how and when to use them)
  • Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic schematics interpretation
  • Ergo Risk basic knowledge
  • LOTO
  • Drawing interpretation
  • Schematic interpretation
  • Electrical, valves, actuators and sensors Basic knowledge
  • PLC program interpretation and adequation
  • Electrical, pneumatic troubleshooting
  • High level programming
  • Mechanical System understanding
  • Parametric Sw proficiency (SolidWorks, CREO, ProE, Auto Cad, CATIA, Autodesk)
