Dive into supporting and enhancing our Werum PAS‑X Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and related applications, driving AstraZeneca’s manufacturing sites worldwide to new heights.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure high performance and stability of PAS‑X and connected manufacturing applications using monitoring and observability tools (for example: Grafana, Aternity, Nagios, AWS CloudWatch).
  • Contribute to automation and CI/CD pipelines for PAS‑X deployments, environment maintenance, and cloud enablement initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and problems, performing root cause analysis using Lean/Six Sigma-aligned methods and AI‑enabled insights.
  • Support PAS‑X Core3 migration activities and cross‑system troubleshooting across .NET services, Oracle/SQL Server databases, Citrix‑delivered clients, and JVM‑hosted apps (e.g., JBoss).
  • Build and maintain dashboards for real‑time operational insights and anomaly detection.
  • Create and improve runbooks, standards, and best practices; document solutions for global teams.
  • Collaborate closely with users, infrastructure, and vendor partners; contribute to continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum ceremonies and DevOps practices to plan, deliver, and continuously improve services.
Essential Skills/Experience
  • Experience: 2–4 years in application support/maintenance (L2/L3 preferred), ideally within manufacturing or complex enterprise environments.
  • MES exposure: Hands‑on experience supporting a Manufacturing Execution System; Werum PAS‑X experience is a strong plus.
  • Communication & collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; comfortable working with diverse teams across cultures and flexible to collaborate across time zones.
  • Monitoring & reliability: Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and anomaly detection for production systems.
  • DevOps fundamentals: Exposure to Kubernetes/Docker, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar) for build, deploy, and release management.
  • Scripting & automation: Practical experience with PowerShell and/or low‑code automation (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Applications & databases: Troubleshooting skills for .NET applications; working knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server (queries, basic admin).
  • ITIL mindset: Incident, problem, change, and release management; experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar).
  • Mindset: Curiosity, willingness to learn, proactive problem‑solving, and a friendly, team‑first attitude.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Prior work with PAS‑X specifically (configuration, deployment, or support).
  • Experience with Windows Server administration, Oracle administration basics, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Developer, Citrix, and JBoss.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical/life sciences processes and terms; understanding of GxP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Exposure to manufacturing process control, material handling, or warehouse management systems.
  • Certifications: ITIL v4 Foundation, MES, Oracle Administration, or Windows Server Administration.
